It’s a story of true pain and angony how The Hollywood Car Show came to be.
You see, db (Don Burnside) is the creator and caretaker of websites, including those for Fireball Tim.
Fireball Tim is the World Famous Movie Car designer, among other things. One of those things is not professional furniture mover. One day in late 2008, Tim was trying to move a refrigerator by himself (most likely to impress his wife) when he lost his grip and let the ‘fridge smash his hand up against a wall.
Among the things you can’t do with a broken hand is post to your blog. This got db to thinking, since besides being a caretaker of websites, he is also a bit of an audio/visual guy, already producing a podcast over at White Roof Radio. He got to thinking how Tim could still post to his blog using audio or video and passed that along.
Tim had a lightbulb moment and over the following 2 weeks, The Hollywood Car Show was born!

Tim and Don both use Apple computers. They talk using Skype and Don records the audio using Audio Hijack Pro and edits the show in Garage Band.
Tim uses the Rode Podcaster USB Microphone on his end.
Don uses an Audio Technica Pro 31 microphone connected to a Behringer Eurorack UB502 Mixer on his end.
Don and Tim also both use a fair amount of voodoo and magic to make the show happen. It’s a trade secret that both of them have sworn to take to their graves. Don’t even bother to ask.
